1st Annul Grapeland Chamber of Commerce Watermelon Festival and
Bar-B-Que Cookoff

The Grapeland Chamber of Commerce will be hosting
their First Annual Watermelon Festival from 9 a.m.
until 3 p.m. in the Grapeland City Park. There will be
arts and craft vendors, food vendors and several
watermelon related activities which will include a
seed spitting contest, guess how many seeds in the jar
and a watermelon eating contest. There will also be a
washer pitching, horseshoe tossing and a Bar-B-Que
cook off. There will be live musical entertainment
throughout the day as well as other games and
attractions for kids with armbands for the games and
attractions costing $10 each. Also during the
Watermelon Festival the Grapeland Volunteer Fire
Department will host a competition against other
Volunteer Fire Departments in the area as well as
games that the public can participate in.
